Esquela offers an eclectic blend of happy juxtapositions — super-hip yet steeped in rural roots and classical sensibilities, indie and edgy at times, yet organic, groovy and folkish. Esquela is roots-rock with a honky-tonk edge, a sense of humor, and a sense of history.

Front-man “Chico” (John Finn: bass, vocals) has been writing and performing with lead-guitarist Keith Christopher since 2001. Christopher was an original member of the Georgia Satellites, and has worked with the likes of Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Billy Joe Shaver, Tony Joe White, Paul Westerberg, and Todd Snyder.  Christopher is an accomplished, masterful songsmith, as well; among his many songwriting credits, Christopher has written for the late, great Ray Charles. Lead-vocalist Rebecca Frame’s powerful delivery and soulful, gritty, emotional tone draws comparison to the likes of Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, and Susan Tedeschi.  She hits notes with slick, strong, surgical precision, but never at the expense of the “rural roots” nature of the material.

There is nothing quite like an 80-degree day in June.  Tennis is here!

Summer 2010 is shaping up to be a great one for Tennis Everyone.  The team is working hard every day to make sure our players / students have an amazing experience this summer.  Enrollment is very strong, and we look forward to having lots of great energy this summer, with fantastic new and returning players.  Also, we have a junior tennis camp in Fleischmanns, July 6^th through August 17^th.

We have had the pleasure of speaking with many families over the course of the last few months and have truly enjoyed learning about what makes Tennis Everyone such a special and important place to each of you.  We’re looking forward to a great summer!

“Building on the 35 year tradition of the Fleischmanns Open, we are pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Catskills Cup will be held July 30-August 1, 2010 at Fleischmanns Park.

This year’s weekend promises to be the best ever, with more divisions, a junior tournament, and great entertainment featuring the very first Tennis Jam free concert in the park.

This year’s dinner/dance, once again under the big tent, will feature “Li’l Anne and the Cayenne” as our rockin’ musical performer.  Proceeds of this year’s tournament will go to the Village of Fleischmanns, specifically for the park and tennis courts.

Whether you’re a player, spectator, or music lover, the Catskills Cup has something for you. We’re working to make this the best tournament experience for participants, and fans alike.  On behalf of my staff, and our sponsors, I thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you on the courts!
